Museum Neolithic Dwellings
The Museum Neolithic Dwellings are located in the western part of Stara Zagora, at the site of a prehistoric mound. In 1969, while digging a conduit for a newly built hospital, the remains of two dwellings from the Neolithic (mid-VI millennium BC) were discovered. Late ancient mosaics in a public building of IV-VI century
The in sito ancient mosaic from the fourth to the sixth century, preserved in a public building, is a captivating joining of ancient archaeological remains and modern architecture. The ceremonial hall, the lobby, and the public residence doors are decorated with multicoloured floor mosaics. The mosaic in the main Hall presents geometric shapes, guilloches, as well as pagan and Christian symbols. Dominating motifs of the images are the four seasons, the eternal life circle and the life tree.
