Late ancient mosaics in a public building of IV-VI century
The in sito ancient mosaic from the fourth to the sixth century, preserved in a public building, is a captivating joining of ancient archaeological remains and modern architecture. The ceremonial hall, the lobby, and the public residence doors are decorated with multicoloured floor mosaics. The mosaic in the main Hall presents geometric shapes, guilloches, as well as pagan and Christian symbols. Dominating motifs of the images are the four seasons, the eternal life circle and the life tree.
Late ancient mosaics in a Roman private home – ІV век
A unique ancient mosaic from the IV C., found in the living room center of a Roman patrician’s house, presents a colourful carpet of anthropomorphic figures, flora and fauna of the marine and terrestrial world, with many geometric shapes, broken crosses, and twists.
A roe deer and a duck under crawling vines with plump grapes are placed in the central medallion of the puzzle.
Karanovo Mound
The Karanovo mound excavations revealed many of the secrets of prehistoric cultures, with short interruptions, from the seventh to the second millennium BC. Seven cultural beds within 12,4 m lifts were exposed and provide irrefutable proof that this mound was inhabited for four thousand years.
As a result of the research spurred on by the discovery of this mound, a chronological system was created which now serves as a reference for the synchronization of European prehistoric cultures.

Megalith (rock sanctuary) near the village of Buzovgrad
Another beauty spot in the region of Stara Zagora is the Megalith near the village of Buzovgrad. The rock sanctuary is situated at the foot of the Sredna Gora Mountains - 5 km from the town of Kazanlak. Thracian tomb in Kazanlak
The Thracian tomb (the end of IV century BC), discovered in 1944 in the tumulus of Tyulbeto Hill in Kazanlak, is the first Bulgarian monument inscribed in UNESCO's World Heritage List; in total, nine sites in Bulgaria are listed. Included is a tomb consisting of three rooms – entrance hall, narrow corridor with gabled roof and a brick funeral chamber with bell cupola. Karasura is located 6 km from the northeast corner of the town of Chirpan, in the southern flanks of the Sredna Gora Mountains.
